Kit Assembly (Sun. 5/17)
NOTE: Updated COVID protocols for shifts! Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic CRC has consistently held regular giveaways of PPE, grocery gift cards, clothing, fresh produce, and culturally appropriate informational brochures in high traffic areas of Black neighborhoods. Through these efforts, CRC has supported over 200,000 people, with over 45,000 produce bags and 30,000 PPE kits and many other resources. CRCAA’s weekly kit assembly shifts are critical to supporting CRC’s work. Come practice Contribution with us!
About kit assembly shifts:
Shifts take place indoors in West Oakland following strict COVID safety protocols. All volunteers are required to wear a N95/KN95/KF94 mask and gloves for the duration of the shift, and are expected to wash hands at the beginning and end. If you do not have an N95/KN95/KF94 mask, CRCAA will provide one for you.In light of current COVID practices and risks, we have recently updated our COVID restrictions for attending kit assembly shifts. We ask that folks do not attend if:
- you have any COVID symptoms (fever, cough, sore throat, sneezing, or runny nose), or
- had close, personal contact with anyone with COVID within the past 10 days
- if you recently had COVID, you must have a negative antigen test OR be10 days after symptom onset (or 10 days after positive test if you were asymptomatic).
For safety reasons, CRC does not allow anyone under the age of 14 to volunteer at kit assembly shifts. Minors aged 14-17 years will need a parent or guardian to sign a waiver in order to participate.
NOTE: Volunteers will need to certify that they understand and agree to these requirements in order to sign up for the shift. If you have questions about kit assembly shifts, please reach out to us at [email protected].Volunteering at a kit assembly shift is open to anyone who meets the above requirements, but please note that CRCAA was called into existence by Community Ready Corps with the purpose of organizing white people to practice the 5 Methods to Divest of White Power and Weaponize White Privilege. This means that everything CRCAA does, including kit assembly shifts, is politically geared toward white folks, and that white folks appointed by CRC and CRCAA will be leading the shifts.

Hybrid (Zoom and In-Person in Oakland - email us after you RSVP for in-person location!)Introduction to Divestment Workshop
Join Community Ready Corps Allies and Accomplices for a “Divestment 101” workshop on June 7th, 1-3pm PDT!
Community Ready Corps created the 5 Methods to Divest of White Power and Weaponize White Privilege as a framework for white people to effectively combat white supremacy and support Black self-determination. This workshop will train participants in the method of Divestment – the practice of changing our relationship to money to redistribute and return stolen wealth, land, and resources – through CRC’s four Divestment principles.
Divestment is a particularly important method for white folks with wealth and/or wealthy networks; and, any white person can Divest.
You can read more about The 5 Methods at the5methods.org/principles.
We hope you will join us either virtually or in-person! (Please contact us at [email protected] if you would like to participate in-person.)
Access: The event will be 2 hours. For those on Zoom, auto-captioning is provided. This will include a mix of discussion and presentation. There is not a scheduled break, and we encourage attendees to take care of themselves as needed. For those in-person, we will be indoors, and the space is wheelchair-accessible. We plan to have masks optional (we can provide extra N95 and KN95 masks). Please let us know when you RSVP if access is a barrier to attending, and we will adjust where possible.

Intro to the 5 Methods Webinar
If you’re a white person, and you’re against white nationalism:
Join us for our Intro to the 5 Methods webinar to learn how to take effective and accountable action to end white supremacy and support Black self-determination!
CRC Allies & Accomplices (CRCAA) is teaching white folks about how to incorporate the 5 Methods created by Community Ready Corps (CRC) - Education, Organization, Intervention, Contribution (NOT Control), and Divestment - into your life, work, and organizing. Wherever you find yourself, you can strategically contribute to the movement to end white nationalism. These 5 Methods are your guide to effectiveness.
We know that white supremacy is the status quo, and that if we do not actively combat it, white supremacy will persistently re-establish itself - no matter where we are. CRC has taught us that to effectively combat white supremacy, white people must divest of white power and weaponize white privilege, and they have provided us with 5 Methods by which to do just this. Join us for this interactive webinar to learn from white people who have been practicing the 5 Methods and applying CRC’s 5 Methods principles to contribute effectively to Black-led movements to end racial and economic inequality, make housing a human right, divest from police & prisons to invest in holistic community safety, tax corporate wealth, win climate justice, and more.

WHO IS CRCAA?
CRCAA was created by Community Ready Corps, a Black self-determination organization that works to build capacity in 9 specific areas, with the mandate for white people to organize other white people to practice the 5 Methods to Divest of White Power and Weaponize White Privilege. This means that CRCAA has been tasked to facilitate spaces that are for white people to organize other white people.
