Kit Assembly (Sun. 11/16)
NOTE: Updated COVID protocols for shifts! Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic CRC has consistently held regular giveaways of PPE, grocery gift cards, clothing, fresh produce, and culturally appropriate informational brochures in high traffic areas of Black neighborhoods. Through these efforts, CRC has supported over 200,000 people, with over 45,000 produce bags and 30,000 PPE kits and many other resources. CRCAA’s weekly kit assembly shifts are critical to supporting CRC’s work. Come practice Contribution with us!
About kit assembly shifts:
Shifts take place indoors in West Oakland following strict COVID safety protocols. All volunteers are required to wear a N95/KN95/KF94 mask and gloves for the duration of the shift, and are expected to wash hands at the beginning and end. If you do not have an N95/KN95/KF94 mask, CRCAA will provide one for you.In light of current COVID practices and risks, we have recently updated our COVID restrictions for attending kit assembly shifts. We ask that folks do not attend if:
- you have any COVID symptoms (fever, cough, sore throat, sneezing, or runny nose), or
- had close, personal contact with anyone with COVID within the past 10 days
- if you recently had COVID, you must have a negative antigen test OR be 10 days after symptom onset (or 10 days after positive test if you were asymptomatic).
For safety reasons, CRC does not allow anyone under the age of 14 to volunteer at kit assembly shifts. Minors aged 14-17 years will need a parent or guardian to sign a waiver in order to participate.
NOTE: Volunteers will need to certify that they understand and agree to these requirements in order to sign up for the shift. If you have questions about kit assembly shifts, please reach out to us at [email protected].Volunteering at a kit assembly shift is open to anyone who meets the above requirements, but please note that CRCAA was called into existence by Community Ready Corps with the purpose of organizing white people to practice the 5 Methods to Divest of White Power and Weaponize White Privilege. This means that everything CRCAA does, including kit assembly shifts, is politically geared toward white folks, and that white folks appointed by CRC and CRCAA will be leading the shifts.

5 Methods Reader Reading Group
Community Ready Corps Allies & Accomplices (CRCAA) is a committee of Community Ready Corps (CRC) that has been tasked with organizing white people to fight white nationalism and support Black self-determination.
If you’re a white person, and you want to deepen your anti-racist practice for the fight against white nationalism, join CRCAA for a virtual 6-Part Reading Group on The 5 Methods to Divest of White Power and Weaponize White Privilege. The 5 Methods - Education, Organization, Intervention, Contribution (NOT Control), and Divestment - were created by CRC for white anti-racists so that wherever we find ourselves, we can strategically contribute to the movement to end white nationalism.
Through readings curated by CRC and discussion guided by CRCAA volunteers, the Reading Group offers a facilitated deep dive into how we can incorporate the 5 Methods into our lives, work and organizing.

CRCAA Debate Club (Monthly Drop-In)
Community Ready Corps Allies & Accomplices (CRCAA) is a committee of Community Ready Corps (CRC) that has been tasked with organizing white people to fight white nationalism and support Black self-determination.
Are you a white person wondering how to effectively push back against white nationalist ideas? CRCAA Debate Club is an online space for white anti-racists to practice effectively contesting white nationalist talking points.
White nationalists are organizing in white communities, and it’s not enough to just say, “those people are racist and you shouldn’t listen to them” - we need to be able to defeat their arguments. Think of CRCAA Debate Club as a gym for building your intervention muscles. Each month, we will have debate role plays to challenge white nationalist ideas that are catching on in white communities, and to argue effectively for anti-racist ideas. This is an exercise CRCAA has had a lot of fun with in the past, and we’ve all grown a lot and become more skilled at articulating anti-racist logic effectively through doing these role plays together.
